White Square on upper corner of Desktop.

Ok so there's a really old thread about this already. But it didn't solve my problem. When I boot vista, a little white square appears in the upper left corner. It's not my wallpaper. On the old thread they have resolved the problem as being an ATI GPU Driver problem, and the update fixed it. But here's my problem, I don't have an ATI GPU.

When I right click the little white sqaure I can open up its properties, and in the properties it has a name of some website. Shortly after I even read it a "close program" window comes up. I click on close and the sqaure dissapears until the next time I boot.

Leaving the white square on just messes with whatever programs Im running. For example: If im watching a movie in full-screen, it will randomly just exit out of full screen. It doesnt do that once the white sqaure is off.

Well thanx for hearing out my problem, any help would be great.

I ran both programs, however the white square is still there when I boot. I really did like ccleaner, it's fast and cleared some other issues. Thank you for that. I've also cleaned my registry and that hasn't helped either.

Here's a screenshot of my desktop with the properties of that white square open, and the error message I get. You can see the white square at the very top left.

I have the same thing on my Windows 7 box. I guessed it was a bit odd when I right clicked on it and noticed the link. The link incidentally tries to use ieframe.dll to open a web address to no doubt download some spyware of some description.

Anyways, I noticed in the Task Manager that I had a SUSB.EXE loaded which didn't ring a bell, so I ended the task, and the box disappeared. I also noticed that in my Startup folder was an entry for Wireless which pointed to c:\windows\syswow64\susb.exe. I removed that and job done :)

Hi Gordon,

If Win2Kuser's suggestion didn't work, could you do the following:

Download and run http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/176785-vistaforums-sysinfo-tool.html (Click on Select All, then click on the Windows logo). After it runs, export to a file and upload the file with your reply (see Vista Forums - FAQ: Reading and Posting Messages).

Open Windows Explorer, click on View > Details, and navigate to C:\Users\YourUserID. Click on Desktop and take screenshots of each screen of listings, then do the same for C:\Users\Public\Desktop. Upload the screenshot files in a zipped file.
