Yes it did, it had worked fine up until last week.
My computer started running slow, like when I moved my mouse, my pointer would just freeze for a few seconds, or longer. This kept happening many times over and wouldn't stop. Web browsing also became sluggish, at best. I figured it was because of a virus Norton kept telling me I had. I tried to use Norton many times to get rid of the virus, but it would never fully rid me of this infestation. Not even when I tried in safe mode. So I thought doing a full System Recovery was my best option.
Thing is, I did a system recovery last spring, due to my friend downloading some unsafe junk and getting a pretty bad infection due to it. That was the first time I ever did a system recovery on this computer. I didn't know it, but it would apear I can ONLY do one system recovery without the recovery discs. I've tried making the discs before, just incase I needed them, but I also didn't know you only have 90 days to make them, which I found out well after a year that I already had the computer.
So on I went to reboot my comp so I could hit f11 and do a system recovery, just like I had before. But again, I didn't know that you can't do a 2nd system recovery without using recovery the discs for my computer. So after hitting f11, I got this:
And since I didn't know about the 90 days thing, I couldn't make a set of recov discs, so sadly I can't get the "Windows Complete PC Restore" option to work, were it asks you to pop in the 3rd disc of your system recov disc set. Also, I've yet to ever get System Restore to work on my computer.
I then tried to restart my computer to go back to my desk top. But no matter what, it would just go back to the System Recovery Options window. Even trying Safe Mode wouldn't technically work. I mean sure I'd get a black screen, with "safe mode" posted in the corners and such, but I was still only able to access the System Recovery Options and nothing else, no desktop, do files, no nothing.
I started thinking about ordering the Recov Discs from Compaq, which I should have in the first place. But then I thought I'd try one last thing. Noting that I can bring up the Command Prompt, I did a search to see if maybe I could find a way to do a system recovery threw it. And sure enough I found a step by step guide to do so.
However, the guide only made things worse and now I'm stuck with only getting this "NTLDR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" when I boot up my system and nothing else. Not even f11 does anything, all I can do besides getting "NTLDR is missing Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" is still being able to go into Bios.
