If you post your current set up in the disk manager similar to the pics below it will be easier.

EDIT: If you have free space right(when you look at the screen) of C partition, Right click C partition in Disk Management and extend C.

This will not work on "C" drive. I also have useable/space.
Primary "C" availible 465.76GB
Main "C" 383.17GB NSFS (System, Boot,Page File, etc.)
Unallocated 32.27GB
Healthy (Primary Partition) 50.33GB

You can only extend the volume to the availible space shown below because your disc cannot be converted to dynamic or the volume being extended is a boot or system volume.

Extend Volume: Availible nothing Selected "Disk 0" 33039MB
Total Volume Size (MB) 425399
Maximum Available (MB) 33039
Select the amount of space (MB) 33039

Next step I guess would be to see if disc wizard is able to to perform.

I have shrunk the D partition and extended in Disk Management to the unallocated space I created. I think you should be able to extend C partition to the unallocated space.

Thankyou for the link; while I was there before I was unclear as what I was seeing. Since I used the extend link tutorial it explained what I was looking at and seeing and I was able to add the 33309 to Vol C. However I left the other partition alone as I will be using it for Acronis Secure Zone.

Thanks and have given you a kudos

Hi preety,
You can't do what you want to do with the windows Disk management utility because the free space is in logical partition.
But with this third party disk management utility it can be done:
GParted LiveCD - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com
Download this and burn it to CD or DVD(with Imageburn free), change your boot order in BIOS(to boot from CD or DVD) ie: make your DVD drive to boot first.
Then insert the burned CD or DVD and boot your laptop, in GParted you can organise your partitions how you want them.
You should seriously think about upgrading your memory to 2GB as 512 MB is low for Vista. HTH.

Shouldn't he be able to shrink his logical partition by the amount of the free space at the front end and then extend his C drive?
