I made a user account a while back for the family members that always get on my computer so that they didnt mess with anything on my account. Why i didnt just use guest side im still not sure. I want to delete this account and turn on guest but it will not let me do anything with it. I have tried changing it to standard and deleting and nothing. I went into safe mode and tried to delete it and still nothing. Turned on the built in administrator account and still nothing. Im tired of them being able to change setting and things on the other side and i can not do anything about it, please help! thanks you!

Ok, there are only several potential causes for your problem; corruption, virus or an open program.

Try this:

in search type cmd, do not hit enter. Right click on cmd then run as administrator. In the cmd prompt type sfc /scannow. Run 3 times if errors are found. Boot the computer and try to delete the account.

Run a virus scan, and download and run malwarebytes.

Log out of the problem account, from an administrator account hit keys alt, cntrl, delete, then using the task manager click on the process tab, and clicking on the the all users box, look for any process etc, running in the problem account, and end it.

Boot the computer, try to delete and post back.

In lieu of everything else, a quick system restore will do the trick. I will be gald to help, if necessary.

We have never met, but a persons personality can be seen from behind the computer. You are a very nice person. In light of your problem with the theft you are concerend about saying thank you. You are very, very welcome. If you ever have computer information that you want to share with others or information that you need, feel free to return to the Forum, your second home

I wish that I could return your computer, but that is a little beyond my ablities, but I can give you a copy of our tutorial index, which is a treasure in it self.
