On my Vista system under the Users\userid\AppData\Local\Temp folder there are hundreds of xxxxx.tmp.cvr and xxxx.tmp files. Can anyone explain how these files are created and is it safe to delete them? Thanks in advance......:D

Hello b1ajgad,
Yes it is alright to clean Temporary Files. Temporary files are left over files from sites that we have visited in the past to use for a short time without wanting to save these files for future use. It is recommended that we delete these files to keep our systems running smoothly. By deleting these files and other clutter our machines run faster. Here is a free program that will clean all the unnecessary files that you don't need. It is one of the best. CCleaner - Home. ONLY use the temporary file cleaning application. Also it is important to defragment your system, to help keep your machine running fast. Here is a very good one Defraggler - File and Disk Defragmentation - Free Download.

I'm getting those here, and Outlook 2007 is creating them. There is another temp file created at the same time that is also not deleted, nnnnnnnn.od. It looks like Office Diagnostics is the culprit, haven't found a way to prevent them from showing up in the first place.

Thanks for the info & help guys. Ran CCleaner & got rid of a lot of junk - to bad the applications don't cleanup when they're done - oh well. Thanks again.
