Solved I have problems.

New Member
I am new to this so hope I do it properly.
I have a Aspire M3610-ZE7M computer yesterday my computer froze while on face book,while i was waiting for it to re set my child turned it of at the tower. when I re loaded across the bottom where the start button is has turned white now my computer cannot find internet nearly every thing has been turned off.
how do I fix this please .I don't have much experaince with computers.

thank you so much for your answer.
I tried system restore and got the message ..system restore does not appear to be functioning correctly on this system,
Also when I click on connection I get status unknown..if I click on the speaker which has a cross through it I get the message Audio service is not running .
Hopefully I'm explaining myself properly.

You explained yourself very well and the result is now I know that damage was more extensive than I first thought.

Try going into safe mode and trying system restore.
For safe mode, boot the computer and hit f8 rapidly during boot. You will get the safe mode screen.

hi guys thanks again for your help. well I tried safety mode and got the same message regarding not working , I forgot to mention Vista was installed when we got the computer , I just tried the back up disc a friend did only to find it blank. Is there any hope for me?

See if this works. If it does you will go back to factory specs. Bascially, the computer will be like it was on day one. You lose all your programs, documents pictures etc., but the computer works.

To the best of my knowledge this should not be happening. When the computer was turned off, any unsaved information would be lost, but the entire OS disappearing is not typical.

In any event, I will keep you in mind, in the event that the problem continues.

You guys are awesome I am back on my computer , I tried clicking f8 again , tried last good configuration , it came up as repairing start up , IT WORKED ,I am so happy I thought it would never work again thank you thank you both.
Now I have one more query my computer has 4 usb ports on top for some reason none of them will work seeing you worked your magic once hopefully it can happen again.

As all 4 seem to not work makes me wonder if they are "plugged in" to the USB header on the motherboard, did they ever work?

Like I said, the 4 that never worked probably never were connected to the header on the motherboard; if you don't know EXACTLY what you're doing don't mess with it, you could short out the whole motherboard.
