CAN I REBUILD GlobalCatalog.wbcat TO RESTORE A REFORMATTED DRIVE?

I have attempted to recreate the MediaID.bin file using the “sdutil” function applied to the “GlobalCatalog.wbcat”, but keep getting an error, saying “There is a problem with the backup catalog. Error 0x810000E4”.

I have the whole backup, consisting of “Backup Set yyyy-mm-dd ID#xxxxxxx”, which contains the “Catalogs” folder, containing the files “Backup files 1.wbcat” through “Backup files 638.wbcat” and files “Backup files 1.wbverify” through “Backup files 638.wbverify”, and the zipped file folders “Backup files 1.zip” through “Backup files 638.zip”.

Is there a way to recreate the “GlobalCatalog.wbcat” by somehow assembling the individual “*.wbcat” files?

Any resolution on this issue. I was using Windows Vista Home Premium Backup and Restore to a 2nd hard drive, a 300 GB directory with folders labeled and zipped files, many. Anyway, primary hard drive fails after trying to clone, lost all data on primary hard drive, reloading OS on 2nd hard drive, 300 GB directory folder now on primary in a User Folder cannot be seen by the Backup and Restore routine.
I will try the sdutil but am stuck with putting that folder on a drive, so do I need to map a drive on this primary hard drive?
