How do you change an XP dedicated dvd drive ML-dt-st-DVDRRW-GWA-4164b ATA Device, to work with Windows Vista.

All i get is "Your system is not configured for this Drive, an update is not needed." when i try to change the Firmware.

It will run Cd`s though,

Try going to the manufacturer's website and see if there is a Vista driver for it.

I went to the Hitachi manufacturers website as you say, and no update driver or firmware is available for the above mentioned drive. It must be that old they don`t even acknowledge it anymore.
