Right click menu (Context menu) sometimes invisible!

Hello,

I have this rather annoying problem in Vista 32bit SP2. Sometimes my right click menu (Context menu) is invisible. I do see the outline/shadow, but everything is white/blank. Restarting laptop does seem as temp fix, but I have this issue very often.

I tried ShexView, but didn't succeed.

When this occurs, I also don't get to see power down options (Start orb> that menu with Sleep/shut down/log off..)

I know it has something to do with context listers, but not sure how to proceed.

Any idea what to do?

Cheers,
Miki

Hi miki69,

Open up command prompt, and type:

sfc /scannow

And then when it finishes copy and paste the following into notepad and save it as a batch file (.bat):

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

And run it as an administrator

(Alternatively, you could type all of that into an elevated command prompt, but its quite long).

From here, you should now have a SFC log file on your desktop, can you upload that for us?

thanks, I've ran this test, ended up with no integrity violation message or so, but I cannot create this txt file. I've tried both .bat file and typing directly, some error cannot access xxx/Desktop :(

EDIT: I did rename this CBS.log to txt but it's still 39MB file. Nothing disturbing inside
