Hello richc46 - thank you for replying

I do it several ways - I highlight the text, right click and press ''copy''
but when I try to paste in the intented location ''paste'' does not appear. (cannot be clicked - not bold)

I also use control C and control V - does not work either

Is there another way and/or a solution?

Ok let me think

Try this. Go to search. Type CMD Do not hit enter. Rather right click and run as administrator.

In the cmd prompt type this sfc /scannow

Tell me what happens.

I ran it and this is the result:

Verification 100 percent complete
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix them.
Details included in CBS.Log windir\logs\CBS\CBS.log For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS/log

Run several more times. Sometimes not fixed the first shot.

Try 3 times, but I think this road is a dead end.

If the above does not work and doubt if it will try this

Run an antivirus scan.

download and run malwarbytes
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Then try another browser. Firefox and Chrome are nice. I lean toward Chrome.

Dagurl,

Your post is the first one that I saw this morning, a great way to start the day. Helping on the boards, here, has 2 big benefits; I learn as I teach and the good feeling of being able to help others. I was able to acheive both in this situation and that makes me happy. Let me give you one more piece of advice, its free, too. Everything is working great, now. Make a copy of your hard drive, put it away and forget about it. Once a week make a system restore point. When you have a small problem, you can fix it with the System Restore, if the problem is much larger you can go back to the image that you made and put away. The downside if you do this is that you do not have to return to the Forum; but we rather have you here sharing your own knowledge than trying to solve problems. Take care.
