Safe to go to 7?

Hi, first post here. Don't know much about computers, I just visit boards, send pics and email, basic stuff.

I have a Gateway DX 4200-09
3.7 windows ex index
AMD Phenom 9150e Quad Core Processor
1.80 ghz
4ghz
4.oo gb
64bit s/p2

I've been happy with it. I haven't been able to download the live essential. Get a on catalog result ox80072ee6 unknown error.

It's bugging me. I have the windows 7 upgrade disks, got them free several months ago and just didn't think about installing them. Now this update download thing has me worried if I go ahead and do the windows 7 thing, am I going to have problems? I have never had trouble downloading updates before. Everything else seems fine, did the impossibly long check :sleepy: disk thing last night, no problems found. So what do you think? Is it safe to go to 7 or should I wait and see if I have trouble with other updates? Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you already have the upgrade disk then IMO an upgrade is the way to go.

If you need any advice on doing the upgrade take a look at our dedicated windows 7 site - www.sevenforums.com
