download problem

hey guys, i have this problem with my hp dv3 laptop. everytime i tried to save for example an image from the internet, i does not save in my file. i've check the file destination but it is not there.please help me guys

i am running a win vista home premium 64bit

i use mozilla firefox.
for example if i want a picture from some internet site, i simply right click on the image then save image as..then when i go to the downloaded folder, the picture is not there.i have check thoroughly my destination folder when i was saving. please help

When you right click and save as or save page as it should say at the top of the window where it is going to save it. If you select All Files in save as type you won't need to type .jpg To start with you could try to just save them to your Desktop to see if that works.

tried it, does not work either.
on my pop up window download
the open and open containing folder is disabled
only the rest of go to downlink link and etc.. is ok

See if it is a problem due to your antivirus and or fire wall, turn them off and see if you can download. You can set a system restore point, dowload Microsoft Security Essentials if you want to feel protected and then get rid of it using the systmem restore point after the test.

don't know what pop up window you are talking about. When I right click on an image (like Tom982 signature) and click save image as,I get this box what do you get?

i got the same. I mean the download box
the part where all files are finished downloading.
what am i doing wrong.i can save the image but when i go to the destination folder its not there

You could try a new destination and see if it works, Like your desktop.Try changing the destination before you save it see if it turns up.

What Tom said about checking if the problem is in Internet Explorer would be good to try as that would help see if its a Windows or Firefox problem. It could also be the place you are sending files to is not the place you thought it was.

I agree with ilikefree, because, for example, the default destination for my downloaded images is my Pictures folder, not my Download folder. Before you do anything else, why don't you do an Advanced Search (searching your whole system, and including all non-indexed locations)? See if your images are there somewhere.
