Laptop problem.

Hi! I have windows 7 installed on my laptop and suddenly I got a program that I'm sure its 100% virus. After opening this program my laptop shut down and got this error after in a black screen.

"Windows Boot Manager"
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem.
1.Insert your windows installation disk and restart your computer.
2.Choose your language settings and click "next."
3.Click "Repair your computer"
If you do not have the disk, contact your system administration or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File:/windows/system32/drivers/pcw.sys
status:0xc000428
info:Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file

I'm still able to use my computer by using Disable Driver SignatureEnforcement "Enter then F8"

But every time I restart or open my laptop I receive this boot error, my laptop can't read a disk and I would like to reformat my laptop to fix this but I don't know how.

Also, in disk management my C:Drive(150GB) and D:Drive(150GB) didn't appear. Is this because I'm in "Disable Drive Signature Enforcement" ? or because of the virus? I couldn't even re-install my windows 7 by using Daemon tool. In Upgrade it tells that I need more space even tho I have 32GB space left on my laptop and in Manual Installation any of my hard drive didn't appear. I also tried to reformat my D:Drive in in case to show up on manual installation but still no luck.

Please help me to fix this, thanks in advance!

Hello aerolite, welcome to Vista Forums!

The first thing I would try is to uninstall "Daemon tools", the other day someone on the team at SevenForums.com had a similar issue with "Daemon tools", remove it in safe mode and see if the issue goes away; be sure to post back to let us know how it sorts out.

Hello aerolite,
It seems you have a problem with Pcw.sys. This is the Performance Counters for Windows driver.

If you have the Windows disk, carry out a startup repair.

Startup Repair - Windows 7 Forums

If not, you can make a repair disk.

System Repair Disc - Create - Windows 7 Forums

When you get the PC up and running, download this free app, update, and scan.

Malwarebytes

Also, just to make sure the system files are in good order, open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc/scannow press enter and let it scan, if errors are found, you will need to scan again until clean.

Hope this helps, good luck and post your results.

Um... I don't have chance to try this because my laptop can't read a disk "my cd drive isn't working anymore".

Hi! this is the result of my sfc/scannow (After running malwarebytes)

C:\Windows\system32>sfc/scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

C:\Windows\system32>sfc

But still I'm getting Windows Boot Manager error. What should I do? can I use an external dvd drive(USB) to reformat my computer?

You might be able to use an external DVD drive to try some of these suggestions. Some computers can do that and some can't it seems. How old is your computer?
