I have started getting this -----> AMD data change... update new data to DMI everytime I reboot, the system boots up fine and no nasty BSOD's.

GA-MA770T-UD3P(rev. 1.1)

I contacted Gigabyte this is there reply :- Thank you for supporting GIGABYTE products and contacting GBT Tech Support. As to the problem you mentioned, kindly try to Load Optimized under BIOS setting and remove unnecessary hardware. Then try to test with a hardware add on at a time to see how it works. You can try to reinstall OS as well since it is also possible the boot file damage issue. If the problem remains, please try to contact your supplier and see whether they could help you do further testing on the system to find out where went wrong.

It is a brand new tower, that I had custom built, and when I first installed Vista there was no AMD data change... update new data to DMI.

I do not want to flash the BIOS, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I am curious as to why all of a sudden this message has suddenly appeared

try using the basic defaults with any auto-overclocking and core unlocking turned off for starters, leave out on the boot any devices with flash memory. run a memory diagnostic app eg: memtest, windows memory test. if a memory cell on the stick fails or doesnt sync correctly it can be read sometimes as a hardware change. its also worth reading the bios update notes to see if any of the fixes/new additions apply to any of your hardwear.

Not overclocked, no auto-overclocking. And as far as the BIOS updates go, I have F5.

This is from Gigabyte :-
F8 1. Support On/Off Charge function
F7 1. Update AGESA 3.7.0.0 for AMD 6core CPU
F5 1. Add CPU Core Control option
2. Fix USB keyboard compatibility
3. Support EuP Lot 6 function (for rev 1.1 only)

So none of the BIOS updates are relevant.

I also posted on the whirpool forum, here is what they have said :-
My ZeRo
I think I read somewhere it was normal, I have the same motherboard and my systems been running fine for the last 6 months having that message come up...

Whybother
I have the same mobo and mine does the same thing, nothing to worry about.

As I said it boots fine, I was just curious as to why all of a sudden this message started coming up

maybe a cold boot bug, trying going to the memory makers site and using there recommended settings not auto in the bios. theres quite a few of the newer 1600-1800mhz ddr3 that wont sync properly with memory controllers on the first boot.
