Startup Repair, Laptop Can't Start

Hi! My laptop has been unable to start up since yesterday and I cannot get Vista to run. Startup repair will automatically run, but is unable to fix the problem. I've tried System Restore but that hasn't fixed the problem. I can't get into Safe Mode (even with the Last Good Configuration Option) as my laptop will restart. chkdsk c: /f results came back okay. I've also tried booting Vista from the CD with the repair option. Is there anything else I can do without having to resort to reinstalling Vista and losing all my data? Is it possible to do a repair/upgrade install if I can't even log onto my laptop?

I think this issue may be associated with a few issues I had with my laptop recently. First I noticed that I tried to open "more power options" via the battery meter a new window would open but quickly disappear (the same happened when I clicked on the "personalize" option and Windows Update). Then I received an message "an error prevented the slideshow from working" whenever I clicked on the slideshow option in my folders.

Here are the results from the startup repair log:

Any help would be appreciated.
