"Operating System Not Found" error

Hello,

I've been googling what seems to be a pretty common problem. So, I had this problem too, but after attempting to turn on the computer for the 4th time, it started up. I do not have the Southbridge chipset. I have System Drive C, and 4 backup drives hooked up. Most of the work on the computer is Photoshop work.

Now I'm afraid of turning it off, in case the same thing happens. Any suggestions or ideas so I dont see that screen again?

Thanks everyone

What do you think happened? New software, trying to tweek the system, going to dangerous websites?

lol, i dont think i do dangerous sites. Email is as dangerous as it gets. No new software. As I said, 99% of work on this computer is done on Photoshop. I have a separate computer for "dangerous emails" and what not. :) It backs up every night using the software that came with Vista. Other than that, I cant think of anything that could be a factor.

I think system restore is your best bet. It will put everything back to the date that you set it to.

so, as I said, after the 5th or 6th time of trying to start it up, it started, I did a system restore to a few days ago, and also did a system clean up. It seems to be working fine for now. I'm just afraid of this happening again, because it came so unexpected. But thank you Richard for the help. We'll say its resolved for now. :)
