Boot Disc and BurnCDCC.zip

Hello everyone!

I'm reading a posting on this site that has me a-bit confused. For some time now, I've been wanting to create a boot disc or better yet... a boot-able flash drive with a bunch of apps. and tools with it, to be able to reboot a smashed PC and at least get access to system restore. Having a bunch of handy tools and apps. would be with me then if needed.

SIW2 has nicely posted something about the boot disc part of it but, I've never made one before so ??? Here's his post:

It's a lot easier to use a boot disc.

D/L this free one, Rescue Kit Free Edition | PARAGON Software Group - free partition software, hard disk partitioning

Burn it to cd ( as an image , not as data -use this BurnCDCC.zip )

Boot it up.

Select Normal Mode>File Transfer Wizard.

I downloaded the BurnCDCC.zip..... what is it? and how do I burn an image? I guess I'm asking for a step-by-step walk through because I really have no idea what to do. I have the free "burn an image" software, and 7-zip.

Thank you so much

Simono

Hello Simono and welcome to the forums

Do you want to burn the Rescue Kit Free Edition to a disc?

If so, can you download InfraRecorder:

Download InfraRecorder from SourceForge.net

Then can you install and run it.

Then click Write Image

Then select the ISO of your Rescue Kit

Then put a CD in the disc drive.

Then click OK

Let it finish and you're done :)

Hope this helps and let me know if you need any more explanations,

Tom

Hello Tom,

Thanks so much for your time with this.... been wanting to create a tool box (so to speak) and a boot disc is a must. Just do not know all the things I can put in a boot disc. Well, lets start at the beginning again... Here are the questions:

1) Yes, I want to burn Rescuer Kit Free Edition to a disc.

2)Is InfraRecorder from Sourceforge.net, for the same thing as what SIW2 sent BurnCDCC.zip for?

3) I'm sorry I'm so illiterate here but, what did you mean by:
"Then can you install and run it.

Then click Write Image?

Then select the ISO of your Rescue Kit"

Not to sure on what you mean.....

Thanks for your patience Tom,

Todd

I played around with this and figured it out.... thanks again. I did use infraRecorder which was easy to use.
