Hello,
I am getting a notification in the above marked as critical which runs along the lines of: "A service is reported as having an unexpected error code... one or more services has failed... a service did not stop gracefully. Service exited with a code not equal to 0 to 1077. Resolution .. restart the service "
I believe this is a problem related to HP laptops and is not serious but I should like to know if there are any implications with it. It states to restart the service. But, which one ? I am very confused :sarc:

Go to search
type
event viewer
Look for errors about the time of the problem.
With the codes, we can determine exactly what happened

Hello Richard,
As suggested went to Event Viewer..There are numerous critical errors coming up here over the last few days.
Numerous notifications: "SideBySide ..... ID 33 "
A few notifications: "WMI ........ ID 10 "

At a loss to know what to do. Any help to you in getting an answer ?

Side by side is a bad one. I will refer this to someone who is better equipped to handle that.

Hello!

Could you please copy a sample of those errors here please? Side by Side is basically a large portion of the "behind-the-scenes" Windows Operations. Not all Side by Side events are bad, but they are if they are Critical! And it is such a large portion, that I couldn't begin to guess at the cause without some extra information.

Thanks!

Richard

To copy the errors in Event Viewer, double-click on the error to open a dialog box and then click on the Details Tab. Hold the left mouse button down and scroll over the entire details page to select everything and then hit CTRL-C simultaneously on the keyboard to copy the information. Then, without closing Event Viewer, go to this website and reply to this thread and hit CTRL-V simultaneously to paste the information in the reply box. Repeat the process as often as needed with various errors to provide a good representative sample - don't select ones that are the same, but if there are any differences then choose those - especially significant differences and be sure to include the two you listed above (you can use the same reply for all of them - just put a few line spaces between them so they can be separately identified more easily).

Good luck!

Hello!

Is this actually critical? To me, all this says is that rmxrend.dll uses the Visual C++ 2008 Runtimes. I can't make much more than that. Can anyone?

Thanks!

Richard

Hello,
I do not seem to be able to have this situation resolved. Is there anyone out there that can help as the item still remains in the System Health Report ?

Hi BluePeter,

From the above information, these do not even appear to be errors. Are you giving us everything contained in the details? Here's an example similar to one you provided, but that contains additional information (like the Description) which helps us see what and where the problem is (and the fact that it is an error as opposed to information or critical):

Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager

To help you (especially if these are critical errors as you are saying - what you provided don't indicate their status at all), we need more information - at least as much as I showed above and more if it is available.

Thanks and good luck!

Hi Lorien,

There it must lie. I am not expert enough to delve into that level of report and since the computer is, in all other aspects, working perfectly I am just going to have to live with the situation.
Since it is marked CRITICAL I may consult a software expert here in Ireland if it remains much longer. But, from experience, I know that ,if this was remedied, it would not be too long before another annoying notification came up . It is the nature of this darned computer world we live in. Thanks all the same.

Hello!

I am not really sure what the issue is, and don't really have anything to go on at the moment. Try SFC to look for a corruption:

Right, please run steps 1, 2A, 3 (about 15 minutes), 4, 5, and then Step 1 from the top yellow box, but only follow this last one if Integrity Violations were found. Please upload the new sfcdetails.txt from your Desktop. System Files - SFC Command

Good luck!

Richard
