Hi,

Windows:vista home premium 32(Japanese), Email: windows email.

I have noticed recently my deleted emails are not going in to Deleted Folder.
I have also confirmed by Right clicking on Recycle Bin that
"Do not move files to the Recycle Bin.
Remove files immediately when deleted" is not chosen.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have read answers in the forum but did not find suitable one.

Thank you

Hi,

Thank you for reply.
On left side in windows e mail there are folder and among them is TRASH folder where deleted items goes. I clicked on that as you said, clicked properties, I can see Bin but empty.
Just now I did an experiment.
I cleaned un wanted mail folder(not Trash folder) so there was nothing left in trash folder or unwanted mail folder. I deleted on email which I did not needed. I landed in to the trash bin which showed in figure 1 and disappeared as I am typing this message.
Please refer attached screen shot.

Thank you

Deleted mail folder and recycle bin are not the same

Your email sounds like its corrupted. You may want to download and try the most current, Windows Live Mail 2011

I have a hunch. Try with a clean boot.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Bet its your maintenance software, or maybe antivirus

For further information that mail does not go to recycle bin, it goes to deleted mail folder. This is not a bin problem.

EDIT From the email client you have to set up send deleted mail to deleted items folder

Are you using pop3 or Imap settings?

Is your folder set up to handle large emails?

Did you check settings?

Tools > Options > Advanced > Maintainance> tick 'Empty messages from Deleted Items folder on exit > Close

Clean boot will allow you to boot with out the startup programs, no anti virus etc. When you set up clean boot you will see the programs that you will affect.

I think on windows mail these are the steps
Tools > Options > Advanced > Maintainance> do not tick 'Empty messages from Deleted Items folder on exit > Close
I have windows mail 2011 so cant check.
If you want to take a chance with another email client that would be up to you.

I think that if you try a clean boot next, the problem may be solved. After the clean boot, its easy to set it back the way it was.

It sounds like some software you have is deleting that mail. Try the clean boot. If you dont understand something, just ask.

Hi,

I thought I found the reason I appled the procedure to clear all stuck messages in the deleted folder, http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/62560-windows-mail-problems.html

It cleared all stucked messages as you can also seen in my previous screen shot saying what are these. But while typing this message I deleted some emials they went in to the Deleted Folder and later disappeared.
Could it be my Norton Internet security?

Question: what will clean boot do if I install?

Thank you

My Computer

All clean boot does is it does not permit other software to load up at start up.
For example there will be no anti virus, no fire wall, and many other programs. If the problem is not fixed, you merely check all the start up programs again, and you are back to normal. If the problem is fixed you check a few at a time to see which one caused the problem

Hi,

Sorry I was not aware of that middle button. but I did it now.
Ok so clean boot will stop other program at start. It means I have to know which programs are checked in start up if needed later I can use them.

Thank you

Folllow the instructions. When you go to msconfig, you will see a lot of programs with checks next to them. When you want to put the programs back, just check them again. If you follow the instuctions carefully it will be easy and no problems. Understand everything that you are doing step, by step. Ask if you need to.

I read your question again. Let me explain this. Clean boot is only a test. It lets us find out which program is causing the problem. Once we know that we fix it and you go back to normal boot and you will be just like you were before the test.

Hello,

This morning, when I was about to follow your instructions I have noticed 42 deleted emails were in the Deleted Folder and also in Purge Folder(if this term is ok)20 emails.(refer attched screen shots)

As I said in my previous posts, I put cursor on Deleted folder then deleted.
As you can once again see in the screen shot there were more than 2000 stucked email which I was not aware of.(refer attached screen shots)could be the cause of problem.

I am sharing this because who knows may be some one need help.

Once again thank you for best help.
