battery issue

Hello: I'm a newbie here, so apologies in advance if my question has already been dealt with elsewhere.

Whenever I run my laptop (Toshiba) on battery power, programs need restarting ("Windows Explorer is not responding....check for a solution and restart the program")
This NEVER happens when the comp runs on AC supply - only on battery.

This is not a critical issue but it is annoying. Any input is appreciated

Thanks

George

i think it has more to do with the actual programs than the difference between AC and DC power. power is power, there shouldnt be a difference..... try troubleshooting your programs. safe mode, reinstall etc..

Thanks! I agree: power is power but this happens to every single program that's open, be it IE, Firefox, Photoshop, Word, you name it. I don't this it's possible for every single program on my computer to have a problem...yet it consistently happens, like clockwork, whenever I unplug the power cord; never with it in
