How can I prevent "logon process initialization has failed" error?

So I turned on my computer this morning and, having had no proir issues that I was aware of, my screen was black and I got a message saying, "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details."

I didn't know what that meant, so I just restarted my computer and, shockingly, everything came back as normal, but what is the likelyhood that there is still that error with my laptop? And is there anything I can do to fix it so this won't happen again?

Other details:
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, and Windows Vista Home Basic. Also, I'm in the process of purchasing a new battery [I've been getting alerts upon login about my battery life for a couple of months now, and now the battery won't last more than 45 minutes w/o being plugged in..] if that may have anything to do with it.

Thanks guys!
