Is it Possible to customize my Restore DVD's?

I only have recovery media and not the oem disk's for this Vista Home Premium, 64-bit. And I have had to use them more than once, but everytime I re-install I have to go through the process of eliminating the so called "crapware" that comes along with the fresh install.

I am dreaming of a way to edit or customize these restore DVD's And have a set of disk's that install JUST the Microsoft O/S and not the other crap like Office 2007 trial, Norton 360 trial, etc, etc...

I have played around a bit and can explore the folders/files, have extracted files from the IMAGES folder using Universal Extractor and can see the files I'd love to delete. I have heard of and practiced slipstreaming files into a file image before, so I'm thinking there has to be a way to edit or remove files from the installation???

I know what your thinking. Why doesn't he just throw the cash and buy the oem version, or maybe, When are you going to give up the vista, It's been well passed by with the newer versions of Seven??? Well I like a challenge and I just love using this Vista machine as a test machine for some of the apps I want to try before installing on the Seven machine.

Hope someone can verify if the above is do-able..:)

Welcome
To the best of my knowledge, the restore DVD that comes with the computer, unlike a regular DVD, cannot be changed. The "bloatware" that you do not want cannot be removed. This is why many, after buying a computer with an OS preinstalled will actually go our and buy the retail version of the OS to install without the bloatware.
