Solved Icons and taskbar not showing up

So yes.. let me explain my problem here.

Yesterday,I created a guest account and logged off to another, after that,my screen

went black and does not respond to whatever I pressed. Even after restarting my

computer,the problem persists.

Now,I had disabled the guest account through safe mode.

But in normal mode, icons, taskbars were gone, but mouse cursors and background

remains. I was wondering if this might have something related to graphic or something.

Also,I am not able to go to task manager,it goes black screen after I did crt + alt + del.

I am using windows vista x64bit

Please guys,I need help );

Do that in Safe Mode....
press Ctrl + Alt + Del > Task Manager > Procesess tab, right click at explorer.exe > click End Process > Applications tab > New Task... > in the Open box, type explorer.exe > Ok

Is desktop back to normal ?

Welcome
See if doing a System Restore from before the problem, three for four days before, solves the problem.
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html

Try right clicking on the bottom, task bar, see if you can get Task Manger.

I did a system restore and it din't work for me though.

I also tried what you mentioned by right clicking on the bottom,It gives me the same msg from right clicking anywhere (refresh,personalize.,etc.)

I did what you mentioned in safe mode,But after i restart my comp,it was still the same

Both methods worked on my 2nd restart but after that it dint work again,is it a temporary method? Is there any permanent methods?

Just to be safe rather than sorry
Run a full anti virus scan, download (if you can) malwarebytes and run a full and updated scan.
Make sure you update both the anti virus and the malwarebytes before the scan.
Sometimes, extraneous events tend to confuse rather than help. May have nothing to do with guest account.
Go to search type event viewer.
In the left panel of EV go to administrative.
Any errors appear that might explain the situation?

Suggestions : do those in safe mode if you can't in normal mode.

1. Do a system file check which will look for corrupted files and if any found, it will try to repair them.
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html

2. Create another user account with exactly the same type of privileges.
Logon to that new account > is the desktop normal ?
If yes, log on and off a couple of times to make sure > if all goes well, then I'd say your "old " account is corrupted.
What to do with a corrupted user profile ( user account ) .....
Fix a corrupted user profile

NOTE : excerpt from the above link ..........
To copy files to the new user profile

After you create the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to complete these steps, including the new account you just created.

Running the scan now, think it might take some time.

Will try the 2nd step tomorrow, its getting late in my country

Give this a try

Select the events that you want to save by clicking on the first one one the list. Hold down the shift key, keep it held down and click on the last.
Right click save to desktop (or possibly save)
