Forgot password on UAC

(this is for a friend's computer)

The only account I can logon to Account A, but Account B is the one with the password. Found this guide:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/1...-failed-logon-user-profile-cannot-loaded.html

Okay so this is what I did. I tried to follow that guide. No admin account so it lead me to this guide:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/123496-safe-mode.html

"C) Click on Continue in the UAC prompt."

Which was a dead end, which lead me to this work-around guide:

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88009-advanced-boot-options.html

Which lead me to zero administrator account. Then I found out the admin account might not be active. Which lead me to this guide:

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67567-administrator-account.html

Except when I entered in the first step it said:
"System error 5 has occurred.

Access is denied."

Found out the problem. Turns out I need an elevated command prompt, via this guide:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/181765-elevated-command-prompt.html
Except: "4. Click on Continue in the UAC prompt."

Hello Xen, and welcome to Vista Forums.

You could also try doing a System Restore at boot using a restore point dated before the this error to see if it may be able to fix this.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Update:
So I was in Safe Mode once more and I clicked on the Account B and it logged me in, but when I type in cmd, regedit, or when I'm in the User Account menu to try and change the account type, manage another account -- all of these clicks do absolutely nothing. Nothing loads.

I tried doing this initially but all the points on the computer are from way before 60 days and the most recent three failed.

Yeah I did, I just forgot to link that in the tutorials I did, or something, but yeah it failed on me because I needed to have an elevated command prompt (mine didn't say system32) but to do that you need UAC...back to square one lol

UAC is disabled in Safe mode if I remember rightly

Okay so I'm in the Admin account, and once again, nothing works. However I saw this: "Manually renaming the C:\Users\(User Name) user profile folder." Tried doing that -- it said the file or folder does not exist. This computer belonged to my friend's parents, and I feel like they tried to delete a user really improperly. Is this beyond repair? Also, I can't update the computer either. It tries, but it fails. Also also, the recovery disk they supplied me with I think was for a different type of Windows, because it doesn't work. I'm not sure how to do a complete reset -- don't you have to register Windows and all that? Wouldn't the serial numbers and everything that showed that you bought Windows get erased if you wiped the computer clean? Finally -- keep in mind that this computer can't update and can't do a system restore. I feel like they deleted some key files or something.

My Computer

Xen,

At this point, I think it may be best for you to get the correct recovery disc for your computer from your friend's parents and just reinstall Windows 7.

What brand and model is the computer? If it's a OEM computer, it may have a recovery partition that you can use to reinstall Windows 7 with.
