Memory Issues

Ok,

So I got a laptop from an friend as my other one died. But it has an issue.

My laptop can only see 2944MB OF 3072MB Ram.

I THOUGHT the BIOS combines Main memory with my GPU Memory (2944+128MB= 3072MB.) But if i take out 1GB the BIOS Reads 2048. It wont combine my GPU.

Speckies:
Intel Core 2 Duo T5500
3GB DDR2 667MHz
Intel I945PM CHipset
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1450 128MB
160GB HDD.
BIOS (Latest 207)

I USED System Information for Windows and the Memory says 4096MB MAX.

Please help, I know that the I945 Chipset Revision 3 can support 4GB

    300 FPS (max FPS in game) Highest settings 8x AA 16x AF @ 1920x1080!!!
32 bit Windows also reserves some of the system memory addresses below 4 gB for hardware devices.
As such, this forces the address for some of the 4gB of RAM to reside above the 4 gB limit.

Please run a DXDIAG report with the 3 gB of RAM and another with the 2 gB of RAM so we can see what's going on here.

To do this, go to Start and type in "dxdiag" (without the quotes) and press Enter
In the DXDIAG window, click on the "Save all information" button at the bottom.
Do this for both the 3gB and 2gB of RAM, then zip them up and upload them with your next post.

Ok i have attached them. Also, I tried with windows 7 X64 and reads 3.00GB installed 2.87GB Useable.

I am not going to interfere with the expert advice that you will get fromUSASMA, hes one of the best. That being said the memory stats, that you posted can be normal.

i dont get why windows 7 x64 would reconise it as 2.87 because my old pc reconised 3072. ALSO 2GB in windows/bios reads 2048 so... I should speak to ASUS support to release a bios update?
