Computer going into sleep mode when not supposed to??

Hi guys, I have my computer power settings on high. I also set it to never turn off / sleep / hibernate, EVER.

But recently its been going into sleep mode after about an hour and half.

Not only does it go into sleep mode, but I cannot get it out of sleep mode by moving my mouse or pressing a button on my keyboard! The fans and everything are on, but the monitor stays off!!!

The only way I can get back to my desktop is to manually shut down my computer and restart it.

Why is it doing this???? It's so frustrating because I need my computer to stay on for 3-4 hours at a time but it keeps going into sleep mode.

please help!

The only thing in your link that can relate to my sleep mode problems is the fact that I have a wireless keyboard and mouse.

But waking it up from sleep isn't my main concern, it's the fact that it goes into sleep mode even though I set it not to ever.

Did you see my second link?

Yes. My monitor does not have any sleep mode options.

But I do manually power off my monitor when I leave my computer on. Then when I come back and push my monitor's power button, it turns back on but has an orange light. The same light it has when my computer is off, except my computer is still on.

I hope that wasn't too confusing.

But I know for a fact that even though my computer is on with fans running, it's either in sleep or hibernation mode because programs I have running overnight stop running at the same time my computer stops.

I will update all my drivers and check my bios settings to see if I can find the cause for my computer going into hibernation.

Many lappys have a feature to go into sleep, when battery is low,
Did you disable sleep/hibernate mode?

So turns out my computer isn't going into hibernation/sleep. it's crashing.

It happens randomly, my screen would turn blue/black staticky looking really quick and then the monitor would turn off. But the computer and fans still stays on, and the only way to get it working again is to restart.

Upon restarting I get the "computer wasn't shutdown correctly" message.

What's the cause of this? Graphics card?

I checked my graphics card and updated the drivers.

So far my computer hasn't crashed or gone into hibernation. I guess the problem was that I'm a noob lol.

Thanks for the help though!
