My troubles started with NLASVC.dll not starting up which is network location awareness. After a few hours playing with it, I restored it to a shadow copy from a few months ago. fixed it. However. I've not been using ICS since playstation network is down, and now it's fixed, and my ICS isn't working beause of Base Filtering Engine.(BFE) I've tried to go in and manually start is, and I'm getting error 5 access denied. I tried raised CMD takeown ...bfe.dll, still got error 5 access denied. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks for the help. I've read other people with this same problem on here, just wondering if there was any new info. I've tried disc repair, no errors detected, sfc scannow, errors detected, could not fix. Vista ultimate 64 bit SP 2. My knowledge of computer. I can fix my own computer.... most of the time :mad:

Welcome
This adminstrator is very rarely denied access.

That being said, be VERY, VERY CAREFUL that you do not make any changes that will affect your system. It is not recommended that this Adminstrator be used for every day purposed because there is very little limitation on his authority. A wrong move can damage your computer. If you have any questions about a move, ask.

Thanks for the timely respone. :D
I'll try the REAL admin account. Maybe it will at least let me diagnose what is going on with the process. After checking my error reports, BFE has not been starting up for over 2 months, around the time I installed Comodo FW security suite. If anyone is running Ultimate 64 SP2, I'd really like to see a copy of the registry key if it's not to much trouble. What should my permission be set to if I right-click on BFE from REGEDIT? (for each account) Isn't there a way to return all registry key to default? I've got reg scanners, Glary, CCleaner.

There is no way to reset the registry to default.
Stop using regscanners, cleaners etc. They are not needed and cause problems with Vista. After your problem is resolved remind me and I will give you the easy steps to maintain your computer, without the use of software that is doing, "who knows what" to your computer.
Get rid of comondo, use Microsoft Security Essentials and the Windows Firewall. They work flawlessly with Windows.

Comodo is already gone, I thought uninstalling might help my BFE problem. I use Superanti spyware, Malware anti-malwarebytes, and AVG for AV. Any others I should get rid of? Once I get the BFe problem fixed I'll let you know.

OK, I enabled the admin account, rebooted, then logged innto ADMIN account. Tried to start the service, Word for Word
Services

Windows could not start the Base Filtering Engine on local computer.
Error 5. Access is denied.

My current Permissions in regedit, permissions are as follows. Creator Owner---Special. System--- Full Control, Read. Administrators(user-pc\administrators)---Full Control, Read. Users---Read
Now under Advanced, Owner the current owner is Administrator(user-Pc\Administrators)
If someone could check my registry key to a working registry key of the same OS, maybe this will tell us something. I'm gonna try to upload.
