I've had this computer since 2006 and bought it at Office Depot. Vista Home Basic x32/Compaq Presario pc SR5010NX and this message popped up after a restart. I don't know what else to do since I followed the directions and even tried the use the recovery discs I purchased from HP last year. I also tried to boot the computer in safe mode and it came back to this blue screen. Nothing works please help!:cry:

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link) - Test ALL of the hard drives.

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Resources (read the details at the link)
There are also free, bootable antivirus disks at this link: Free Online AntiMalware Resources

Thanks for info. I have run all the diagnostic tests and talked to HP for 2-3 days in a row. It is a hardware failure and I going to have to suck it up and get it fixed. Thank you again for the links and info. I will use these links and triple check anyway.:):(

Sorry to hear that. But thanks for letting us know!
Good luck! BTW - you'd be surprised at the price of new laptops these days. Much cheaper than they were in 2006!
