Solved Is my new hard drive a lemon?

I have a Dell xps m1730 that I recently bought a new HDD for. I got a WD scorpio black. I used Macrium reflect to image over the old drive. After some light use I noticed some problems with my system.

Services on my comp would fail, I'd get messages saying some file somewhere was corrupt or missing, and everytime I restarted my comp would want to do a chkdsk procedure. Also every so often the drive would lockup in the middle of normal vista usage and the HDD access light would be solid and the system unusable for a couple mins, or I'd have to just force a restart.

Did I get a bum drive? Missing drivers, bad image?

I've also tried a complete clear reinstall from the OS DVD with similar results. I made sure to install the drivers for the HDD at the beginning of the install from the resource disk from Dell.

I have windows vista ultimate 32 bit.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Ran the Seagate Tools test and the drive passed all tests except the "Long Generic" which it would never finish, (would never get passed 5 - 15% complete).

Random processes are starting to fail again, pretty sure the drive is no good.
