I have 3 vista lap tops. All have passwords from old employees. Just found them in a pile of junk that was being thrown out. Vista basic. Can you help. Cheers.

These computers will contain the files of your previous employees then, i.e. private files, so I cannot help you with the removal of the passwords.
What I would suggest is to do a clean install of Windows on these laptops

I would suggest that the system & data is comprehensively wiped off the disk drive before "Chucking them out" for safety.

I would love to help you with this, but for all we know, you could be part of a criminal gang with lots of stolen computers and you are trying to access the files - I'm not accusing you of anything of the sort, but this is the reason for that rule
I would recommend that you use DBAN to wipe them:
Darik's Boot And Nuke | Hard Drive Disk Wipe and Data Clearing
It will wipe the hard drive in a similar standard to the Ministry of Defence
