location is not available

a folder in C:\Users\username\Documents has gone missing. I can find the folder and all its contents when i run a search in the start menu, however i cannot open it or any files within. i have a home network that involves my cpu and a bluray player, but neither can access these files. what steps can i take to recover these files? if you need more info let me know.

thanks for the tip richc46 , unfortunately ShadowExplorer could not find my folder. i have gone back as far as I could (to the beginning of the month) and no dice. anything else I can try?
