Blue screen on boot taking longer and longer to pass on each boot

Hi all,
I have another issue that I am hoping you can help me with. When I boot my HP Pavillion 9500 it starts with the screen with the F keys at the bottom, then goes to the welcome screen (for about 5 seconds) then from there it goes to a black screen ( for 3 secs) then to a blue screen ( for 3-4 mins) then on to the desk top
Is the blue screen a problem I should be worried about ? as the blue screen seems to be getting longer and longer every time I boot
It previously had a new MB and HD
I don't recall a blue screen prior to this

thanks Neil

Hi Rich,

Nice to hear from you again

It only happens on start up, no writing just a plain blue screen for about 3 mins then it goes straight to my desk top and everything runs fine
It is as if it freezes for 3 mins on blue screen before starting windows, then everything is fine

OK Neil, its not there. Check to see if one has been created.

Zip up the memory dumps and upload them in your next post.
They're located in C:\Windows\Minidump (may be hidden)

How can I fix this problem? its really worrying me  My computer is a vista 32x and its vista buisness. Could my computer be over heating? It also seems to go into sleep mode very quickly. Is this normal?. My C://windows//resource/theme file is telling me that I need to create an assosiation in control panel but I don't know how to. Any ideas on how to fix it? sorry I cant seem to get a screenshot of it and I don't know why. I am also having a device manager problem and this is what its showing me: http://i39.tinypic.com/54a9vp.jpg. What is going wrong with my computer :( please help :(

If your problem occurs the same way as described in the initial post of this thread, fine. If not. Start another thread that describes when it occurs and what you're doing.

You set the sleep mode settings by going to Control Panel\Power Settings and making the changes you desire there.

You change file associations by going to Control Panel\Default Programs\Associate a file type..........................., finding the file extension that you want to associate with a specific program and change it to that program. There's other things you can do but this is the most simple.

Which version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Well I kind of deleted my internet explorer because it was really slow and whenever I try to install it onto my system it tells me that internet explorer is already on there. Thanks for the sleep mode settings. How do I start another thread? sorry I'm new to forums :s

Hello and welcome, you actually need to post a new thread with your minidump files using this : http://www.vistax64.com/crashes-debugging/282419-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html
Your issues will show in the dump files . The BSOD squad will assist you at that point.
