I cannot restore.

I keep getting this pop up that says

"windows cannot find 'c:\windows\system32\rstrui.exe"

I tried articles online but nothing helped. I even ran a scan that I came across in one article and this is what it read when it finished.

I don't have the Windows Vista cd and I'm completely lost at what to do!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for the reply! I'm going to try what you suggested as soon as I get home. On a scale from 1 to 10 how complicated is this going to be to fix for me? I don't know a whole lot about computers lol. Also is this a common problem and does anyone know what caused this? I read somewhere that it's a fake virus?

It can be a virus, but not likely. We will check that if necessary. On a scale of one to 10, if you have no experience, I will mark the task as a 3
We will help every step of the way if necessary, so it goes down to a 1.
Try my second link first, that is very easy.

When I open the command prompt it opens up c:\users\owner

Is that what I need?

Sometimes you must run the SFC three times to repair, give that a try.

Yes, do it three times. If you still have errors try the other link. If that does not work report back.

First check the time date settings in control panel.

Another way to do the same is to find the computer icon on the desktop, right click and go to properties.
follow the link instructions for system protection on.
