Still low memory after upgrade?

Previously I had 6 GB of RAM. During normal use about 3 - 4 GB is in use. Recently I made a video (about 45 min long) in Adobe Premiere Elements. I've had success with shorter movies but when I go to try to burn this one to disc, either Adobe crashes or I get the BSOD. When I have this video project loaded it takes up about 2 GB one its own leaving me with little to no free memory.

So then I upgraded to 12 GB Ballistix Tactical. I loaded up the Adobe project, and it still gave me the error about having little system memory left. With the project loaded I was using about 6 GB of the 12 GB but Task Manager said I had no physical memory free.

Actually, right now, with Adobe closed I'm using 3.28. Under Physical Memory:

Total 12278
Cached 8066
Free 1721

Why do I have so little free memory after this upgrade? Where is the rest?

It cpould be that you're hitting an Adobe limit, rather than a Windows limit - is this a 32-bit application, or a 64-bit one?
Which version of Elements?

Version 8 and it's 32-bit. But if that is the problem I still don't understand why the Task Manager would say there isn't any physical memory free when it recognizes that there is 12 GB total and only about 6 being used.

Are we talking standard DVD video? If so, is there an option in Adobe to save the video to HD as an image(.iso file) ? If so then you can burn with Imgburn. Adobe probably still has large chunks of the video in buffers in ram. Then loading the burning module may max it out. If you can quit Abobe then Imgburn should have no issue burning the disc from the .iso image.
