Bootmgr is missing

hey so i have a hp g50 126-NR notebook and i had the 'bootmgr is missing' error pop up on me. so what i did, since i bout my computer from a relative, was i ordered the sysmtem recvoery disk for my model from hp.com.

once i recieved the disk ichanged the bios setting to boot the cd/dvd,then network adapter sometthinglike that, then my hard drive. first it started loading the windows files and once it was finished two black screens popup for like a quick second then disappeared, then i had an error box pop up saying "this pc doesnt support your system recovey disks".

so i want back to the BIOS stting and kept the cd/dvd drive first then my hrad drive then etc. once i restarted it, it took me some some black page with a blinking cursor at the bottom and at the top it said indows setup..... and a whole bunch of letters and parenthases and number so i just pressed 'enter' and all it did was restart my computer. can anyone help me. i dont reallly care about my files on my hard drive i just want to restore it back to factory conditions

See if you can get to the recovery partition. If you do your stuff will be lost. It will be like the day it left the factory

Hey this actually helpe out alot. Thank you both. Um another question, are vista installation disks still available, because my noteboo asks me for it and I don't have the original disk and it says that my pc doesn't support my recovery disk when I try to go on command propmt or safe mode even when I try to restore my computer. If the vista disks arnt available can I just apgrade to windows 7?

You can probably get installation DVDs for cost from the computer manufacturer, that is about $25.00. I would get the upgrade DVD to Seven, however. We can tell you how to have it install the same as the full cost DVD. Make sure that your computer is capable of handling Seven. Notebooks are not known for their power.
To have a good experience with Seven as well as Vista, you do need more than on GB of RAM.

That is up to you. You can get a Vista replacement DVD from your computer manufacturer for about $25.00, but all you get is an outdated operating system. If you buy the upgrade Seven DVD for about 125.00, you have the best and most current. The choice is yours.

I alreay have this disk, and it's not working. Everytime it's done loading window files an error message pops up and says "this PC does not support your System Recovery Disk
you will not be able to recover your system with these disks"

I think that the Disc that you mentioned is a recovery disc. I am suggesting an install DVD, as my previous post indicates, if the recovery does not work.

I already have that disk and it isn't working, whn ever it gets done downloading windows files an error box pops up saying "this PC doesn't support your system recovery disks
you will not be able to recover your system with these disks" could it be that I might have a 64 bit?? Or does it not matter what disk you insert??

Wait ignore my last post. But Im pretty sure I have that disk. Did you find this in the media recovery folder thing? Because that's where I got mine from, and my DVD says this DVD will restore my software back to factory conditions.

Use the restore to factory condition. You will lose your stuff, however.
