Hello,
I have vista home basic-servicpack2- IE9+norton security2011 that these days are very sluggish:(, many Web page does not appear and if after seconds go open the content is not displayed completely , particularly images remains empty, i have to click (Show picture)to view, so it goes with opening of my emails too, further loading videos such as youtube takes a very long time which remains in buffering , if I use skyp the connection will be interupted all the time if I turn off the webcam without the video it goes well, windows indicates that problem cannot be solved automatically by using the network and sharing Center, I've checked he is well connected to the internet and internet signals are strong, i have this internet connection for more then year and all those cases which slowing down now has been functioning perfectly so it's fast enough, I have reinstalled setting of norton security and Internet option to standard and i have ruined system recovery but it didn't solve the problem:o!!!do you have any idea what solution maybe?
your help is appreciated

Welcome
Your problem can very well be the result of malware as suggested above; but memory may also be a cause. Run the tests as given above. If they are negative, I am rather sure that you will find a problem with memory

You could try Express Cleanup in IE to help speed it up.

You could run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility from Accessories and reboot to remove temporary files and empty the recycle bin. Sometimes temporary files can really slow a system down.

Does the home basic have the Aero? If so, you could turn it off.

Just some easy things to try along with the other suggestions.
