I have vista 32bit home premium. Here is the link to the specs page for the machine.

HP Pavilion Elite m9150f Desktop PC Product Specifications HP Pavilion Elite m9150f Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

I have bitdefender internet security 2012 installed and no overclocking or customizing.
I am a newbie when it comes to PCs and anything therein.
March 1 I updated vista, bitdefender, and downloaded kies for samsung galaxy s 2. i was on the pc for a couple of hours and went to sleep with it off. I turned it on the next day and it took 30 minutes for it to even get to the desktop. Although I could do ctrl+alt+delete and that would show as well as the task bar. When i open the task bar, i found that the processors were not active and barley any ram was being used. Which i thought to be weird for a startup sequence.

I restarted in safe mode and it came up like normal in 2 minutes and i rolled back a few days with system recovery which didn't help. I also uninstalled kies program and that didn't make a difference.
I am just very confused and frustrated at this problem any help would be appreciated.

I know you said you uninstalled Kies but, run msconfig.exe and look in the Services and Startup tabs to see if it's still there and enabled.

While there, you could also set up to do a clean boot to see if any other program might be causing the problem.

In the services, checkmark the box for hiding the Microsoft apps and then disable the rest.

In the Startup, disable everything.

Reboot and see if you get the same problem.

Great!

I assume you changed from a clean boot back to a normal boot.

I don't know what you mean concerning the phone and the firmware updates. Please explain.

Kies can be a bit of a minefield - what version of Java do you have installed?
It may be that that's causing your problems
The latest version of Java is 6.31 - if your Programs & Features lists older versions, uninstall ALL of them, then install only the latest version from www.java.com

Hmmph! - I see that Kies is now based on .NET (coulda sworn it was Java last I looked!)

It requires .NET 3.5 SP1 or better.
.NET updates can take an age to install, and it may be that this s what caused your system 'sloppiness'.
I would check your .NET installation using Aaron Stebner's tools from - .NET Framework 3.5 Installation validation tool - Aaron Ruckman's Web Log - Site Home - MSDN Blogs

See what it has to say.
