When I turn on my Vista Laptop it is normal, but after I sign in it gives me a warning that says something like "Application failed to open correctly. Select OK to terminate."
Then the screen turns solid black, but the mouse is still responsive.
The Windows Start key doesn't do anything, but Ctrl+Alt+Del works. I have opened Task Manager and clicked New task, but when I tried to open a program I got the same error message. The programs do open though, if after I click "New Task..." i click browse and then right click a program and select "Run as Administrator." I am using this computer to write this right now; it seems normal, just with no desktop or task bar, and the only way to open anything is with the above method, which wastes a lot of time.
