Probably your board doesn't support 1600 mhz natively, and so it defaults to 1333 (666 x 2) <- Thats what it should be in a perfect setting.
You'll need to go into the bios and manually set it.
in the book my board could run at 2000 [o.v]1333.1066.
now about my stick that is only at 9-9-9-24 .
do you thing that i should contact g-skill about them .
ho boy i cant go in the bios my self am not good snuff to go there .
but the guy next door be able do it for me he is really good at the stuff
i will check my manual to see if the board have 1600
the book said that it support 1066 and could be [o.v] at 2000 .
that is it .
so do you thing that if i go to the bios and change it so i could run at [5-5-5-21.that way better i thing then 9-9-9-25 right .
because why buy stick at 5-5-5-21 if i cant use it at that speed
Sry, been busy.
Yes, but it been forever since I've used AMD.
Okay, can you link what ram you have? I'm not sure if you can do 1600 with them, as if they are only rated at 1333, going to 1600 will be unstable and crash a lot.
But you shoulds be easily asble to reset the timings, 7-7-7-21 manually.
here[G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH.
they are not the best but it do the job .
on 32 bits 4 gb is enuff anyway
Thx, yhas thats what i thought they were.
going to 1600 probably won't happen, but you sure should beable to reset the timings.
here is the motherboard i be using .
ASRock A785GM-LE AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
XFast USB, Hybrid CFX, Instant Boot, OC DNA.
here are my 2 cpu .
AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX450WFGMBOX.
AMD Athlon II X2 260 Regor 3.2GHz Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor ADX260OCGMBOX.
here are my memory .
G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPI-B.
what i like to know is what be the best cpu betwen the 2 .
thank you
by the way i don't do any gaming .etc.etc .
only webb browsing and a little shopping on the net .
that is it .ho and i read a lot on forum
From those uses, either is just fine, with the X2 being better on power consumption.
Flip side is that the X3 has the possibil.ity to unlock to a quad, aka X4,
yes .the computer i use now did unlock it .Athlon II X3 455 Rana]AMD Phenom II X4
Propus 45nm Technology to.
but that was done by turning the swicht on on the mobo .
but if you look at this .cpu banch mark the 455 is way better then the 260.
i will send you picture of the banch mark next post
