    slow start up

    hi everyone

    I have quite a few icons on my desktop, could this be the cause of a slow start up
    and if so can i stop all these programmes from starting up in the background.
    Do i have to have all these icons on desktop can they betaken off.

    Cal,
    Yes too many desktop icons can cause slow startup.
    You can put the icons (if shortcuts) in documents if you wish.
    If you do a clean boot you may be able to descrease the boot time.
    Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup - Windows 7 Forums
    for Vista, too.
    And you just knew we would have a great tutorial for that, too.
