I need to restore my PC, I can't access the image though. When I try through the boot options by pressing F8 it just sends me to a user login screen called other. I have tried all the user/password with no luck.

Your computer is borked, anyway. So give this a try. All downloads are the same the key is what determines what you get. Try to download and put in your key and see what happens.

Can you boot into your exising Vista at all?

Did it come with SP2 already included, or did you need to install sp2 via windows update?
