need vista business to reformat

I've recently bought the upgrade to W8, and in so doing, i've also bought a new larger hard drive.

All went fine until I came to validate my copy and was unable to as Vista could not be found on the new drive.

I have an OEM licensed laptop, so was wondering how I go about this?

As far as I can make out, I need to install and register Vista (business) on the new hard drive before I can upgrade, however, being an OEM licensed computer, I don't have a disc.

Where can I get a copy of Vista business to put on my new hard drive? Or is there any other way of validating W8 that I am unaware of?

All suggestions greatfully received.

Hello Sitjar, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It sounds like you may need to refresh Windows 8 to activate it. The tutorial below at our sister site Eight Forums can help show you more on how to.

Clean Install with Windows 8 Upgrade

Hope this helps, :)
