Suggestion
I put the gadget "CPU Meter" top center on my Desktop. Then If anything starts using excessive CPU I will see it quickly. In my case, using Outlook for USPS addresses in Word leaves the WINWORD.EXE*32 process running after I close Word. I get reminded by the CPU meter to "End Process" in Task Manager.
