As you use the OS, errors may occur. Many times it is caused by HD sectors or other corruption. If the computer is not giving you problems, I would suggest that you just use the computer and do not worry about it. If you do want to attempt to fix the errors, it is suggested that you run SFC 3 times.
If that does not work, a repair install will be necessary.

It is suggested to avoid future problems, download Macrium Reflect and once a week or so make an image of your hard drive. If this ever happens again, you could use the image to replace the current OS.
If you decide to use that alternative or even to reinstall the OS, be sure to use Chkdsk, to correct any sector problems on the HD, first.

I recently replaced a failing hard drive on my laptop, after I had installed it, I ran sfc /scannow it came up error free. I then packed it away ( it is used for when I am away from my desktop ).

I am currently away, when I booted up my laptop, the apps were slow to load. I defragged, and then run sfc /scannow. It came up with errors, I rebooted and ran it again, errors again.

I have attached the log and will also post a URL in case the attachment doesn't work.

I have a licensed version of Macrium for both my desktop and laptop.

After putting the new hard drive in my laptop, I simply used the backup, to save time.

As I said, the only problem I am really having is a sluggish opening of all apps. I really do not want have to do an OS reinstall, as the laptop came pre loaded with Vista.

I have used Macrium Reflect Free since 2004 and it has saved me twice so far
I'm still using the same laptop from then as well, just upgraded the hard drive to a SSD
I don't back up as often as rich46 but at least once a month I do a complete C: drive backup.
