Hello everyone!
I have a home built computer with a gigabyte motherboard. When I try to install Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer it is very slow, and says that my AHCI hdd is not compatible. I believe this may be a problem with the driver because I could only find one for Windows XP. I have tried running SATA in IDE mode only to get errors later in the installation. Is there a way to get around this?
Here are my specs:
Ga-ep46-ud3r with latest bios
SATA maxtor hdd controlled with AHCI
2x4gb ram
Intel pentium quad core
Pny geforce gt 630 2gb graphics card
SAMSUNG DVD Burner 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL - OEM also controlled by AHCI
I am using a Windows Vista Ultimate DVD that I burned form the web.
