Microsoft is going to stop support with Vista in 2017 and windows 7 in 2020 has any one ever tried or used a Windows 7 OEM software ? using that would at least give us three more years before having to go to Windows 10 .. not every body has the money to go run out and buy a new pc ..

The only difference between a retail copy and an oem is the licensing in that an oem can only be used on 1 computer ever unless you buy a license for multiple computers. They do not transfer from the computer it is activated on to another one. Other than that operational they are the same. When buying an oem copy be careful to only buy one that has never been used.

Hi,

I went from OEM Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2 (build 6002) to Vista Pro, then to Windows 7 Pro & now I'm on Windows 10. All for purchasing a Windows 7 OEM license @ £30.00.

I use the OEM Windows 7 as you can buy the Premium keys on fleabay for £7 each, and that got me to Windows 10 Premium without issue. At that price, I'm happy to buy a license for each of my laptops :)
