I have a Toshiba Satellite M45 S265 running Windows Home XP 32 Bit. I want to do a factory reset , I have 2 questions. The first question is, if I do perform a factory reset will I have problems reinstalling Windows XP and the drivers since Windows does not support XP any longer ? Question # 2, Can anyone give me some advice on preforming a factory reset and installing a good version of Linux on the Toshiba Satellite, any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

I just went to Microsoft web site and put in Download Xp updates and this what I found

[FONT=wf_segoe-ui_normal]Windows XP support has ended. As of April 8 2014, your XP computer is no longer receiving automatic updates that help protect your personal information.

So their are no longer updates if you do a Factory reset .. You may loose all your current Updates

I wouldn't bother with the factory reset I would format and install Linux Mint.
