| Dell 351 Vista | Error Code 691 - HELP ! I am trying to get my friends brand new out of the box Dell. She wants MSN as her ISP. Ok, I go through and put in her username, and password blah blah to get her connected to internet. Keep getting Error Code 691 saying username and password validation is off and cant connect. Have called MSN techies at least 10 times on this, and they cannot give me any help getting past Code 691. Have checked over and over again spelling of username and password...everything set up right. ( I am a XP user myself) Can anyone help? |

| Windows Vista X64 | Re: Error Code 691 - HELP ! Error 691 (Invalid password error is it? ) usually happens when the Server is hung/down. I am assuming u r using PPPOE,make sure u have all the settings right (Same as XP). I am using PPPOE in Vista and it works fine by default(w/o installing RASPPPOE etc). Also make sure you have the "Service" name right. |
