    Difference between 32 & 64?

    Hi,

    I just signed up today. I was just wondering what the difference between 32 and 64 was? Better performance in some way?

    This will answer the basic differences between 32 and 64 bit Vista.

    64 bit Vista will give you more RAM support and some performance increases if you have current 64 bit drivers for all of you devices.

    In a word: speed, because the I/O BUS "bandwidth" is doubled.

    Is that so??? i never noticed any difference whatsoever between 32 and 64 bit... NONE.. zip.. zilch... the main advantage was the use of the 4gs or RAM and be able to use more superfetch.

    Indeed x64 is faster (I noticed the Ult x64 OS install was a lot faster than usual). Your experience depends on whether you're using 32bit apps or 64bit. Ultimate will accept either. I am in the process of replacing 32bit apps with 64. Also: it is not just the OS, it's also the hardware.
