It would be interesting to find an HD that is cheap and a decent performer.

Anybody get a 5.9 score with a cheap drive?

Any Western Digital or Seagate with at least 500GB and 7200rpm should give such score, I think. There are disk sales very often. Are you talking about desktop or notebook drive?

' Thanks for the welcome guys!

' As fer me scores: Well I'm extremely happy with them - especially considering it's my lappy (latop). And considering what I payed for it and how new it is, I'll not have a chance to change them anytime soon - so they're scores I'll need to live with for a time still. Fortunately - right now at least - they are.

' Hehe... Right now I'm not even sitting in South Africa - where winter lurks - I'm up in Nigeria on contract... And it's HOT AS HELL!!!! Sitting on the equator... Whew!

' So. Am I too late to see this thread updated with many more laptop numbers??? I thought I'd timed my joining the site pretty well - the laptop-specific discussion had started JUST before I jumped in, so... But seems the replies have died down some. Pity.

Hello Georgez,

Nice score. Is it notebook or desktop? Think, it's the first one.
